Tony Williams

He has completed various courses with some of the world’s top guitarists studying Blues, Jazz, Rock, Classical, Sight reading, Performance and Teaching.

He has also studied privately with David Van Spall (Senior lead teacher Hertfordshire music service) taking all classical guitar grades in a period of under 3 years.

After the completion of that course he then studied at the MUSICIANS INSTITUTE in Acton London for a further year and then continued with a Luton Arts Council awarded grant to study with American Bassist/Composer JOE HUBBARD (an original founder of Musicians Institute) at his JAZZ/FUSION School in Kingston Upon Thames London and become the ‘house guitarist’ during the many Fusion ensemble classes that ran each day.

By 1994 he had a small teaching practice of his own in Luton and also taught for several private schools throughout Bedfordshire.

He began private studies (one on one 2 day courses once a month) with world famous Jazz guitarist Esmond Selwyn at his Gresford Academy North Wales and still continues to take lessons from Esmond (now in his late 60’s and sounding better than ever) via fortnightly/monthly Skype sessions.

Tony has toured all over the world as a performing guitarist with a huge and varied number of live acts. He is also a highly accomplished session musician that has played and recorded with the likes of The Temptations, Saxon, The 4 tops, Angie Brown , X Factor touring artists, Katrina and the Waves and so on.
